Amy Metz

Amy serves as a Senior Training and Development Specialist within Learning and Organizational Development, where she focuses on program creation, facilitation, and assessment. Amy creates meaningful learning experiences that inspire growth, connection, and confidence. She is skilled at using storytelling and collaboration to bring learning to life, whether she's designing engaging workshops or leading innovative digital learning experiences. Amy also enjoys coaching colleagues in content development and facilitation, helping create impactful, learner-centered programs across the University.

Amy joined WVU in February 2024. Before moving into learning and development, she spent most of her career as a Reading/Dyslexia Specialist in a school setting, an experience that continues to shape her approach to helping people learn and grow.

Amy earned both her BA in Elementary Education and MA in Literacy from West Virginia University. Her top 5 CliftonStrengths® – Developer, Learner, Connectedness, Intellection, and Harmony – reflect her passion for developing others and building genuine connections across the teams she supports.

Outside of work, Amy is a lifelong West Virginia resident who enjoys spending time with her husband and their three children.
