Secondary Assignments
Employees may hold secondary assignments with the University on a seasonal, sporadic,
project, casual, academic semester or temporary basis. However, a WVU employee’s
first responsibility is to his/her primary assignment. To ensure that employees
allocate their time properly between their primary assignments and any secondary
assignments and also for WVU to appropriately and accurately compensate employees
for all time worked, employees must request permission of their primary-assignment
supervisors to accept secondary assignment(s) PRIOR TO working in any secondary
assignment(s). This includes FE/AP, classified and non-classified employees.
