Health Insurance

Health Insurance provides comprehensive coverage for regular and emergency care. All insurance options provide coverage for the same types of medical services; however the premiums, co-pays and out-of-pocket expenses, as well as out-of-network and out-of-area services, may vary with each plan. Employees are encouraged to select the plan that best suits their needs and the needs of their eligible dependents.

Benefits-eligible employees who become eligible to enroll for Health Coverage due to a  Qualifying Life Events  including new hires, may enroll for coverage during the calendar month of that qualifying event or the two following calendar months. Written documentation will be requested to verify most life/qualifying events, such as a birth or marriage certificate. Coverage will become effective the first day of the month following enrollment.

PEIA and The Health Plan issue ID cards to members upon completion of the enrollment process, and subsequently when changes occur.
