Insurance Card
WVU students must bring a physical copy of their health insurance with them when seeking services at WVU Student Health Services.
Aetna Student Health does not automatically mail physical copies of your insurance ID cards, so you must print a copy of your card or call Aetna Student Health at 866-654-2338 to request one be mailed to you.
How to Access Your Aetna Digital ID Card

- Note: The email address you enter must be your MIX email address.
- Check your MIX email for the secure Mimecast email sent to you after you've completed the request in step 1. Follow the step-by-step instructions on Aetna's Accessing Mimecast Secure Messaging Guide.
- Note: If this if your first time using Aetna Mimecast Secure Messaging, you'll need to create a password (instructions included in the guide).
- Print the PDF copy of your medical insurance ID card.
Note: It could take up to 5-7 days for insurance cards to be available on the Aetna website following your class registration. If you need to schedule a doctor’s appointment prior to your ID card being available online, please contact the Student Insurance Office at SIO@mail.wvu.edu.
