Spring Enrollment

If you’ve opted out of the WVU Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) for the academic year by completing the fall student health insurance waiver and would like to opt back into the WVU SHIP for the spring term, you may do so without experiencing a qualifying life event. To be eligible to enroll in the WVU  SHIP, you must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours as a domestic student or at least 1 credit hour as an international student.

If approved for spring enrollment, your coverage will be effective January 1, 2027 through August 10, 2027. Visit https://talentandculture.wvu.edu/student-insurance/insurance-card to view instructions on accessing your digital ID card.

Note: The student insurance fee is based on the number of days in the coverage period, which results in differing premiums for the fall and spring/summer coverage periods. Please note that the fall 2026 health insurance premium is $1,277, and the spring/summer premium is $1,980 based on the number of days in each coverage period.
