Guidance for Self-Quarantining and Returning to Work
Employees are requested to remain off WVU property for 14 days if they have:
COVID-19 symptoms
Been directly exposed to COVID-19
A positive COVID-19 test result
Employees should avoid leaving home if possible, but if necessary should practice
exceedingly good hygiene and physical distancing. Working from home is expected
to continue when possible.
Those asked to quarantine for 14 days will have the opportunity to shorten their
quarantine time to 10 days if they:
Have no symptoms during the 10-day period
Receive a negative RT-PCR test result on day six or seven
Follow all safety measures
— including daily symptom monitoring — through day 14
Employees should contact
WVU Shared Services at 304-293-6006 or
CareServices@mail.wvu.edu to develop a return-to-work plan tailored to their
specific situation before resuming normal work activities (on campus or via an
alternative work arrangement).
